A resounding success
Between 24 February and 9 March, Colruyt, Bio-Planet, Collect&Go and OKay customers and staff from the Colruyt Group were offered to buy a tablet of milk or dark chocolate to support the training of young cocoa farmers in Nicaragua. The slogan ‘Take a bite of our fair and delicious chocolate’ was clearly appreciated as the campaign raised no less than €35,031. And that is not all, as Colruyt Group is doubling this amount to €70,062.
Supporting young cocoa farmers
The money raised in this campaign will go entirely to the training project that the Collibri Foundation is supporting in Nicaragua. Through hands-on training, young cocoa farmers learn everything about cocoa cultivation so that they can later build up their own business. Young people like Maria, Freddy and Lázaro can continue to grow personally and professionally with their knowledge of cocoa cultivation. Their certified cocoa then finds a market at Colruyt Group.
